APPLI Mourns the Passing of Friend and Board Member Eddie Hamilton

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. July 18, 2022 – The Appalachian Learning Initiative (APPLI, pronounced like “apply”) is mourning the passing of our dear friend and Founder Board Member, Eddie Hamilton, on Wednesday, July 13th, 2022, after an extensive battle with cancer.

“Eddie was a long-term HIV survivor, a fierce advocate, and most importantly, a dear friend,” said Founder and Executive Director, Marcus J. Hopkins. “Without Eddie’s assistance and guidance, APPLI would not exist.”

Eddie served as a Founder Board Member of the Appalachian Learning Initiative from November 2021 until his passing. APPLI and its Board of Directors extend their sincerest condolences to his friends, family, and loved ones.
